The Crochet Cottage has a new store!

I found a new place to sell my crochet.

I haven't posted this for a while, so here you go!

How to keep your nice and pretty cotton dishcloth from fading or the colors running....

Before you use your dishcloth put it into a bowl of tepid water with about a capful of white vinegar. Let it soak a couple of minutes, block it as usual. Then when you wash your pretty brightly colored kitchen dishcloth it will stay nice and pretty. 

How to block: Squeeze excess water from dishcloth. Re-arrange cloth to proper size and shape, put it on another towel and allow to dry completely.

Extra note:  I sometimes just spray my dishcloth or scrubby sponge with white vinegar and then just use as I normally would. (I have a spray bottle filled with vinegar for cleaning.)

Well, I took a chance and entered some of my items in the fair this year. 
(The Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival).  I entered four items and won three ribbons.  Not bad for my first try.

I got first place for my Pineapple Table Runner.

Second place for my afghan.  (The colors are nicer than in this picture)

(I was frustrated with this until I saw what took first place.  LOL)

And I got third place for my Hat & scarf Set.

Oh well.  I am already making my plans for my 2019 entries.
